Enjoy a Summer of Fun Around the Pool; Use ‘Layers of Protection’ to Keep It Safe

Memorial Day is a solemn time to remember our fallen heroes. But as the holiday fades into memory, it can mean only one thing: summer is just around the corner and closing in fast! Getting Ready to Open Your Pool?
Here Are 3 Tips for Hiring a Pool Professional

After a storm-racked fall and winter in the region, homeowners need the skills of a knowledgeable and experienced service company to get their pools and spas up and humming for the hot season ahead. Sandy Nadler, President of the Connecticut Spa & Pool Association (CONSPA), offered three tips to help pool owners find the most qualified pool service professional in their area.

Is Your Pool Professional Licensed SP1 or SP2?

DON'T BE FOOLED between a Registered and a Licensed contractor. There are a lot of companies claiming to be fully licensed. Unless they have an SP before or after their number chances are they may only be a registered contractor and not a licensed contractor.

Pool Builders Need to be Licensed

This act (1) creates a new swimming pool builder's license and (2) extends existing licensing penalties to swimming pool builders and swimming pool maintenance and repair contractors who work without a license. Although these maintenance and repair contractors are already required to be licensed, there was previously no penalty for doing such work without one. The act specifies that swimming pool maintenance and repair work includes tiling and coping.
